Design engineer - Instrumentation (m/f/d)

You will be responsible for the design and dimensioning of integrated systems (e.g. heating) for furnace plants, i.e. determining volumetric flow rates, pressure losses, pipe cross-sections, etc.; other duties include:

• Selecting and dimensioning components
• Drawing up PIDs
• Creating materials in SAP
• Preparing MSR lists together with the functional electrics team
• Collaborating on risk reviews
• Evaluating processes in terms of functionality and cost efficiency
• Monitoring costs and deadlines in ongoing projects
• Support with matters relating to sales, project management, erection/commissioning and service in close consultation with the product owners in Germany and abroad

You are a graduate in engineering or natural sciences, or a certified state technician; you should also have:

• In-depth knowledge of heat treatment / furnace technology design and construction, particularly in the field of instrumentation
• In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics
• Knowledge of heating and heat treatment processes
• In-depth knowledge of the regulations to be observed worldwide (DIN EN, GHOST, NFPA)
• Good user knowledge of SAP, CAD software (Auto CAD), MS Office, MS Teams, AVEVA, COMOS
• Ability to work in a team, assert yourself, perform under stress, and take decisions
• An open mindset, negotiating skills, ability to work in a team
• Good knowledge of English and German
• Working in international and cross-company teams
• A willingness to travel on business
