R&D Engineer for Technology Hot Rolling (f/m/d)

You are responsible for the further development of plant and application technology for hot rolling mills (steel and non-ferrous metals).

Your tasks include:

• Design of machines, plants, and processes
• Evaluation of plants and processes based on theoretical investigations and field trials, data acquisition, and analysis
• Execution of development projects including budget and schedule responsibility
• Conducting studies in the field of rolling mill and forming technology
• Application and, if necessary, further development of simulation programs and process models
• Evaluation of processes in terms of functionality and cost efficiency
• Support of sales and execution projects including technological commissioning
• Preparation and execution of internal and external training sessions

Completed studies (Master or equivalent, PhD also welcome) in mechanical engineering or a related field. Furthermore:

• Excellent knowledge of engineering fundamentals (mathematics, physics, mechanics, design, forming technology, materials science, etc.)
• Ideally, additional knowledge in electrical engineering and automation
• Good programming skills in a high-level programming language (e.g., C++)
• Good English language skills, both spoken and written
• Commitment and entrepreneurial thinking and action
• Openness, communication skills, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work in international and cross-company teams
• Willingness to travel worldwide
