(Senior) Data Scientist

• As data scientist you are the algorithmic expert for our AI solution
• You will be mostly analysing time series data in collaboration with domain expert to
  • detect the general state of machinery from such data (health index)
  • detect non-tracked events in such data (e.g. slopping)
  • create virtual sensors
• If detection of such events is possible, you can try to predict or forecast such events
• Further, image classification tasks might also be part of your projects
• Sometimes hybrid models which are a combination of data-driven models (=machine learning models) with physical submodels / equations / relationships (thermodynamic, chemical) are necessary
• We are looking for robust, feature-based approaches (e.g. with scikit-learn). We also evaluate more and more deep learning approaches (e.g. with tensorflow-keras)
• You are working closely with the domain expert or the customer in multiple iterations to ensure acceptance of an AI approach by the end-user from the first iteration
• After successfully researching an algorithmic approach, you will also have to wrap your models into a python backend, test the code and then deploy it
• You will track the performance of your model on live data to quantify the error distribution to develop new features and/or to retrain the model

• You have at least 3 years of experience in coding
• Excel at putting AI into production
• You can easily communicate with other departments, plan long-term and coordinate work packages
• You can support sales departments in setting up project plans
• You have experience in researching existing solutions/algorithms etc.
• Deep knowledge in software development (git, code review, Python, SQL, bash scripting, container technologies, …)
• Expert in one of the following: Statistics, Optimization, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Time series analysis, or similar analytical field
