(Senior) Manager Operational Excellence / Expert Industrial Engineering (m/f/d)

You – as a (Senior) Manager Operational Excellence – will be responsible for identification and realization of business opportunities and challenges within our Operations & Maintenance business, your tasks – as goal focused DRIVER - will include:

• Acquire, lead and / or be engaged in interdisciplinary Audit / Consulting teams for technically / operationally complex and integrated business performance improvement driven projects in a multi-cultural environment - also directly at customer site worldwide
• Together with the Audit/Consulting team you identify and determine value adding prioritized areas for performance improvement in a qualified and quantified manner
• Develop / scale sustainable, mutual beneficial solution packages in a full partnership approach and translate them into quantified business cases as the foundation for the complete “partner performance plan”
• Be the direct contact and advisor for the customer as a trusted partner and coordinate all relevant activities in terms of setting up the “partner performance plans” for short, mid & long term improvements
• Be the entry point for the regional operational excellence manager and drive in mutual agreement the continuous improvement of our “partner performance plans” in alignment with the operational teams throughout the contractual phases
• Contribute to the “excellent” product development of our operational products and business model overall, engage product & process owner as well as business stakeholders to assess existing and identify opportunities to improve
• Comprehensible preparation and presentation of all projects content and result, both internally & externally
• Act as a Trainer & Coach for the customer & project team and internal line organization
• Drive company’s mindset towards Continuous Improvement, Business Reliability / Asset Management and Lean Management/Six Sigma
• Contribute to the strategic development in terms of “Business Excellence”

You have a master degree (or equal) in Engineering and at best / or a business history with a strong technical / operational background in metals industry.

Other important skills and qualifications:

• Several years (7+) of professional experience in technically complex products/projects or line management function in the metals industry
• Experience in an international environment, ideally (5+ years) in production, production management, supply chain, maintenance, workshop etc.
• Strong ability to think in an entrepreneurial manner - ideally a passionate CIP manager at heart, with a strong degree of independence and readiness to perform beyond benchmarks
• A mindset, passion and profound understanding of Lean Management, Six Sigma, Business Reliability / Asset Management (Certifications - such as but limited to Six Sigma black / green belt etc. - in those are a definitely a plus)
• Strong ability to use Data Analytics to detect business opportunities and a robust capability in transforming Business/Production/Maintenance Data and Visualizations into improvement solutions
• Sound knowledge of business management / process management and administration
• Personal competences and characteristics in leading (project) teams (e.g. ability to work in a team, empathy, assertiveness, conflict management, motivation, integration of multi-disciplines)
• Proven experience in training, coaching and supporting others (project teams, customers, etc.)
• Outstanding communication skills (demonstration, presentation, negotiation) in an international environment
• Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken; knowledge of another foreign language would be an advantage
• Hold a sound acquaintance of the well-known (PM) tool-sets as well as MS Office
• Willingness to travel worldwide
