Head of Sales Integrated Plants and Contractor Management

You will be responsible for the technical and disciplinary management of the members of your team as well as for global functional leadership; other duties include:

• Overall responsibility for quotations for integrated plants across the entire SMS product portfolio
• Assisting with the preparation of these quotations in coordination with the relevant engineering and sales teams
• Advising customers on the optimal technical solution in cooperation with the engineering departments or key account managers as well as with our international SMS locations
• Autonomously or jointly negotiating prices and terms of delivery with customers, and jointly with the sales department
• Supporting the supply chain management team with the development of subcontractors
• Growing a contractor network for the integrated plant business in conjunction with the relevant specialist departments
• Implementing and developing your unit’s strategy
• Building an efficient system of relationship management with all relevant interfaces (internal and external)
• Drawing up ongoing market and competition analyses for the integrated plant business
• Defining and continually improving the turnkey sales process to ensure that future business requirements are met
• Participating in selected trade fairs and events

You have a technical degree (e.g., mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, etc.) or technical training in conjunction with the relevant professional experience; you should also have:

• Many years of management experience in sales, business development, or service in the mechanical engineering, plant construction, or special machine engineering sector
• Experience in the field of construction and assembly/erection activities would be advantageous
• Strong ability to negotiate and close deals, taking profitability aspects into consideration, as well as sound knowledge of business management and administration
• Proven ability to work in a team, motivate others, and take responsibility
• Strong ability to build and grow networks as well as professional stakeholder management
• Sound knowledge of SAP/SD and confident handling of MS Office programs
• Very good command of spoken and written English and knowledge of another foreign language would be an advantage
• Willingness to undertake worldwide travel
• Professional and personal qualifications in the management and leadership of employees
