Commissioning Technologist - Hot Rolling (f/m/d)

In this position, you will support the worldwide commissioning of hot rolling mills for flatproducts and work closely with customers and project teams from start to finish. Your main responsibilities include:

• Leading the  technological commissioning and process setup of hot rolling mills for steel and aluminum, such as hot strip mills, heavy plate mills, Steckel mills, CSP® plants, as well as aluminum hot strip and plate mills.
• Adjusting and optimizing process parameters to ensure high product quality and meet production performance targets.
• Analyzing operational and process data, with a focus on mechanical equipment, automation systems, and rolling processes.
• Developing process improvements and implementing optimization measures together with the commissioning team.
• Performing and documenting acceptance and performance tests.
• Carrying out service activities independently, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work.
• Feeding key operational results and lessons learned back into the organization.
• Training and supporting customers to help them operate their plants efficiently and safely.

You hold a degree in engineering and have several years of experience working as a rolling mill manager, rolling mill foreman, or in a similar role. In addition, you bring the following qualifications:

• Hands‑on experience in operating hot flat rolling mills in the steel or aluminum industry.
• Solid knowledge of mechatronic systems.
• Experience in analyzing and evaluating plant and process data.
• Good English skills, confident in a professional and technical environment.
• A self‑driven, structured, and goal‑oriented working style.
• Strong team spirit, openness, and the ability to perform well under pressure.
• Willingness to travel internationally for longer periods.
• No relocation required – wherever possible, assignments are planned close to your place of residence.
