Technical Sales Engineer
YOU ACT
In the role of Technical Sales Engineer, you are responsible for sales of SMS group’s products and services to customers within the steel and metals industry in the Nordics. You will work proactively to develop and deepen business with existing customers, while also identifying and creating new business opportunities.
By understanding and anticipating customers’ technical and commercial needs, you match these with SMS group’s solutions to achieve optimal customer value, profitability, and long-term relationships. You work consultatively and act as a trusted advisor throughout the entire sales process—from needs analysis and quotation to contract and follow-up.
In close collaboration with colleagues in sales and engineering, you gather, share, and utilize relevant business and market information. You are responsible for your own customer and budget area and plan, prioritize, and follow up on your activities through structured sales plans.
Location and flexibility
The position is based in Stockholm, alternatively Boden. The role involves travel, mainly within the Nordics, and international travel also occurs. You have significant freedom to plan your work and customer visits.
YOU KNOW
We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a strong business focus and a genuine interest in customer relationships.
We believe you have an engineering degree from a university or equivalent work experience, along with previous experience in technical sales, preferably within the steel or metals industry. The role requires very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written; German and Finnish are considered an advantage. You have good computer and system skills and the ability to work in a structured way with sales processes and customer information. A category B driver’s license is required.
As a person, you are curious, solution-oriented, and able to build trust by combining technical understanding with attentiveness to customer needs. You are comfortable working independently with a high degree of personal responsibility, while collaboration is a natural part of your daily work. With a strong customer focus and a willingness to develop, you contribute to both customer success and the success of the team.
