As of Functional Electrics Section Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering projects related to electrics/instrumentation/control systems (EIC) in heat treatment furnace domain.
You will lead a team of skilled engineers and designers, providing guidance, mentorship and support to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
You will report to the Head of engineering.
Functional Electrics Section Leader
Your tasks
You will be responsible for the disciplinary and technical management of the employees belonging to the area; other duties include:
- Provide advice andguidance to your team members, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Implement an efficient engineering time forecasting and tracking system, as well as a detailed drawing and document requirement definition system.
- Monitor and manage, from concept to completion, the electrical engineering project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Deploy within the engineering department the new engineering software, (Aveva, Comos and Eplan), in line with the group's strategies.
- Coordinate with external engineering offices and decide on outsourcing engineering activities based on internal capacity utilization and/or overall group decision aligned with the head of engineering.
- Drive innovation and implement continuous improvement and products modularization/standardization/design to cost within the engineering department, taking into account the interfaces with other departments.
- Collaborate with the others departments to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, and best practices to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Give support for questions from sales, project management, erection, commissioning and service in close coordination with the internal department heads.
- Provide sales support during preparation of offers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence within the engineering team.
Your profile
You have completed a master's degree in Electrical and Automation Engineering, or a related field; you should also have:
- 10 years of experience in a management of cross functional teams in an engineering environment.
- Strong technical expertise in functional electrical and control systems.
- Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, very good knowledge of English language, additional French/German language would be an advantage
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, assertiveness, resilience, decision-making ability.
- Hands on approach, strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
- Experience with SAP, CAD software, MS Office, MS Teams.
- Willingness to travel abroad worldwide
