Process & Control / Technology Expert: LPRT

• Process & Control / Technology Expert for reheating furnaces and heat-treatment furnaces, covering both engineering and technological development
• Ensure furnace process design, control philosophy, and combustion/instrumentation solutions meet customer requirements, standards, safety, schedule, cost, and plant performance targets
• Work closely with sales, mechanical, automation, SCM, project management, and site teams; support site surveys, fact-finding, and industrial deployment furnace technologies
• Full lifecycle ownership of Process and technology — from RFQ, proposal and basic/detailed engineering to commissioning, performance guarantee tests, and after-sales troubleshooting
• Support or lead technological aspects of projects from contract award to commissioning, including verification, review, validation, and definition of baseline requirements and acceptance criteria
• Define furnace sizing (length, width, height), installed power, zone distribution, and basic engineering for utilities (water, compressed air, purging, atmosphere gases, etc.)
• Select and design combustion system components (fans, recuperators, valves, piping, stacks) and field instruments; define safety systems, interlocks, and control logic in line with standards
• Develop and review process design: PFDs, P&IDs, device lists, hook-ups, instrument index, alarm/set-point lists, motor/component lists, process tables, data sheets, and functional descriptions
• Prepare technical purchase specifications, review vendor offers, participate in techno-commercial negotiations, and approve post-order technical documentation
• Provide technical support for site surveys, installation, commissioning, FAT/FAC, and after-sales troubleshooting on customer plants
• Maintain accurate, traceable documentation (calibration records, test reports, commissioning checklists, SAP data) and capture lessons learned for standardization and continuous improvement

Technical Skills Set

• Education: B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Instrumentation & Control / Instrumentation / Mechanical / Chemical /Energy
• Deep knowledge of industrial furnace processes, especially reheating and heat-treatment furnaces, combustion systems, and lean-gas firing (BFG, COG, MG)
• Strong expertise in instrumentation, control logic, safety interlocks, and commissioning for combustion and utility systems in steel/metal industries
• Proficiency in developing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, hook-ups, alarm lists, and functional descriptions; familiarity with AVEVA and similar CAD tools is an advantage
• Ability to interpret and review 2D/3D engineering drawings, utility layouts, and BoM/BoQ Hands-on experience with AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D) or Aveva, plus strong MS Office skills for structured technical and commercial reporting
• Experience in proposal engineering, cost estimation, vendor evaluation, and techno-commercial discussions for bought-out items and complete combustion/instrumentation packages is an advantage
