For the Design Modules department (FRXM2), we are looking for a candidate in Hilchenbach as

Lead Design Engineer Rolls/Bending-Shifting-Systems (f/m/d)

Ihre Aufgaben

In your role as a Lead Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for complex components in the area of flat rolling mills. Your focus will be on the development and optimization of equipment such as rolls, roll chocks and bending-shifting systems.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Technical development and cost optimization of the above-mentioned components, both conceptually and in terms of design, while considering the requirements of modularization and product management.
  • Calculation, dimensioning, and design of components.
  • Creation of basic engineering and supervision of detail engineering (worldwide).
  • Acting as a point of contact for workshops, suppliers, construction sites, and customers.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with various product areas, functional electrics, automation, supply chain, etc.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for service-related responsibilities concerning equipment in the mill housing window.
  • Providing commissioning support, including on-site assistance at the customer’s location.

Ihr Profil

A degree in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor, Master, or Dipl.-Ing.). Additionally, the following qualifications are important to us:

  • Several years of professional experience in design departments, ideally in the field of flat rolling mills.
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD applications (Creo Parametrics).
  • Strong technical and analytical understanding.
  • Ability to work independently and methodically.
  • High level of commitment and teamwork skills.
  • Strong cost awareness.
  • Good written and spoken English skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.

Eingruppierung​

Pay grade EG 13 - 14, depending on professional experience and qualifications.
